Five Weeks Back in the USA…
and Already Missing Home
I’ve been back in America for just seven weeks, and even after all these years, the homesickness still hits. This is my 5th year on the H2A visa program, and let me tell you — it never becomes “easy.”
But those of us who do this share something powerful: a deep sense of purpose, a desire to build a better future, and a commitment to providing for our families.
We don’t come here because it’s simple. We come because we carry dreams — ours and our families’ — and we believe God honors hard work and sacrifice.

💛 My Wife’s Visa Journey — A Test of Patience and Faith
Last year, my wife joined me on the H2B visa program, and we were excited to start 2026 together in the USA. But life had other plans. Her visa didn’t get approved in time, and I had to leave her behind in South Africa.

🚛 CDL Reinstated — A Door God Kept Open
This season at the Co‑op is my third season, and it’s been good to me. One big blessing: my CDL was reinstated.
There were rumors that our CDLs wouldn’t be renewed, and that stressed a lot of us out. For me, the CDL was something I always wanted — and it truly opens doors here in the USA.
I always tell people who ask me about working on farms: having a Code 14 back home helps you get in, but a CDL in America takes you further.
